The Impact Technology Has On Fashion In Today's Society

Nowadays I spend hours on end on social media, electronics and the internet like most of the people in today's society. However I've never considered how the changes in technology over the past few years has affected the fashion industry that we know today. Have you ever realised without the technology that we have today the fashion industry could be completely different.

River Island App
We are now able to shop for clothes using apps on our phones this gives me as a customer more freedom and flexibility to shop wherever I want. These shopping apps are a lot more simpler to use than the websites as they can sometimes be confusing and complex to grasp. Technology has enabled individual brands to create their own app which allows a wider range of audience to purchase and browse their products or service.

Polyvore App
This app allows you to create your perfect outfit without having to go onto a million clothing sites. You can incorporate different clothing items to create a collage of your choice. It then allows you to actually purchase these items by listing them, their price and where you can buy them down below.

Vinted App
Vinted is an app which allows you to post images of your clothes, shoes or accessories. You can then choose to "Sell" or "Trade" them depending on what you want to do. Selling them means you get money for your clothing item where as trading them means you get something in return for the same amount of price.

The software that I want to talk about today is called Find Similar I know that there are many different apps/software that helps you discover fashion in various ways such as buying it without having to go to the shop or designing your own item or clothing. However Find Similar allows you to take a photo of an item of clothing from anywhere such as a magazine and then it searches for a similar item for you. This software is provided by Cortexica you can access the software in the Style Thief app.

I decided to try out the app myself first of all I decided that I would use a picture from tumblr which was from London Fashion Week. I then uploaded it onto the app and decided that I would have it 50/50 for texture and colour. Obviously you can change if you want the items to have a similar colour to the item in your image or the same texture or in the middle like me. It then came up with 36 results which are pretty similar to the dress that I had picked.

I really loved using this software as it was so easy to use and I defiantly know I'll be using it more in the future. I know that this software will make looking for that perfect dress so much easier and it's also fun to see the results. I love how interactive it is and really gives you as the user more freedom and choice as to what you want to find.

We often see clothes that celebrities wear which is probably out of our price range this software finds an alternative which is similar but much more affordable for us. In a society like we have today this software is incredibly impacting especially within the fashion industry it opens a whole new concept when it comes to shopping or browsing clothes, accessories and shoes.

Sit back and relax here goes...

I've been nominated for this award by three people the first lovely person is Amy who is from 50 Shades Of Blush. The second person who nominated me is Ellen from Floral Beauty and finally the last beautiful person who nominated me is Emillie from Emillie's World. I'd like to thank all three lovely ladies for nominating me it means a lot considering that I'm still pretty new to this whole blogging thing although it's almost my one year anniversary. Some people have been blogging for years so having only blogged for a year is still quite new.

So what is the Liebster Award?
It's a great way to get blogs with under 200 followers more recognition.

Amy's Questions
1. What inspired you to start a blog?
I always get asked this question and I'd probably say after seeing successful blogs such as Zoella, Sprinkle Of Glitter and Fleur De Force I thought to myself I should give this a go. Also because as I've said down below I had nothing to do in my spare time and was just being lazy so I needed something to make me pro-active.

2. What is something you have done that you are proud of?

There's lots of things I'm proud of such as passing my GCSEs, starting a blog and sticking to it, being independent and gradually not relying on my mum so much for things.

3. What is the best thing you like about your blog?

For me it's seeing the response from you guys especially as I get all sorts of comments from people who have just started blogging to those who are extremely experienced.

4. What make up product can you not live without?

For me it would have to be lip balm otherwise my lips would become super irritated and sore.

5. Name your favourite retail shop

I love H&M they have such a great range of clothing, accessories and home ware but it's also a really reasonable price.

6. If you were given a £200 gift voucher what would you spend it on?

I think it would have to go on either Lush because I love their bath bombs and bubble baths on the other hand I could easily spend £200 on DVDs because there's soo many to choose from.

7. What's your worst regret?

Sadly my worst regret is not saying bye to my Granddad properly before he passed away however I cannot change that instead I speak to him whenever I can (obviously I can't physically speak to him but I just tell him things like how my day was).

8. What fears do you have?

I dislike heights especially where I feel unsafe and I'm not to fond of snakes either.

9. What is one thing that really irritates you?

I think it's really rude when people have no manners.

10. Who is your favourite youtuber/blogger?

This is also a really hard question but I love Zoella, Tanya Burr, Sprinke Of Glitter, Niomi Smart, Shaytards, SacconeJolys etc..

11. What is your favourite thing to blog about?

I love blogging about lifestyle related posts which is why my blog posts are mainly lifestyle.

Ellen's Questions
1. Go to make up look?
Simple but also one which makes you look like you've made an effort.

2. What have been your biggest achievements?

For me it was achieving 5 A*- C GCSEs, passing my driving theory and getting a B in my Sociology AS.

3. Favourite blogs/bloggers?

Some examples are Zoella, Sprinke Of Glitter, Niomi Smart and Fleur De Force if you want to see my favourite bloggers/youtubers then click here.

4. Instagram or Twitter?

This one was quite hard as I use both however I'd probably say at the moment i'm defiantly using twitter more often.

5. Fall trends you're looking forwards too?

Jumpers, Yankee candles, leaves, rain and obviously fall make-up.

6. Favourite summer 2014 trend?

I'm not quite sure there's too many to list.
7. YouTuber you feel deserves more views/subscribers?

No defiantly not because the people who have lots of views and subscribers work really really hard to upload content on a daily or weekly basis and they have done over a long period of time. I've only been making videos since January this year which isn't long at all and I only make about one video a week.

8. Hidden Talents?

I got asked this question the other day in tutor and I honestly don't have a single one I can't even use chopsticks and I'm Asian (WHAAAAT???!!) yes It's true.

9. Favourite drugstore and high end product?

I absolutely love the Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Mascara Extreme and I'm sure you guys have seen this millions of times on my blog. As for high end I'd probably say my Benefit Pore Fessional which is amazing!!

10. Favourite film?

*How can you ask this question :( I've got like 2042328952* any ways at the moment I'd probably say Divergent. If you haven't seen it go rent it or I'd say buy it as it's that good to buy it first time without having seen it.

11. What made you start blogging?
I started blogging because at that time I needed something to focus me something that I would regularly be doing because I was doing nothing except lounging around. Blogging has really helped me to get into a routine which I need for revision etc..

Emillie's Questions
1. What is your favourite type of music?
I love music that's in the charts however I'm also a big fan of country, chilled out and dubstep too.

2. Best online clothing store you know of?

It probably has to be Missguided who are an English online clothing/accessory store and I love their stock but they're also good with deliveries etc.

3. Your favourite book\author?

Sophie McKenzie by a mile I've got around 7/8 of her books she's just amazing.

4.Favourite Instagram account you follow?

It would probably have to be either GETFITHEALTHYY who have lots of yummy but healthy food, workout and inspirational photos or JACKHARRIES and FINNHARRIES who are twins I'm sure you know them they have a youtube channel called Jacks Gap. I love their instagrams because they're always travelling to amazing places.

5. Best concert you have been too?/Wish you could go to?

The best two that I've been to are probably Michal Buble & One Direction they were just so fun and energising everyone loved them. I'd love to see Beyonce perform because of her performance at the VMA's.

6. Best thing you have done this summer?

I've done so many great things this summer such as go on holiday to Tenerife, start a new job, started to learn to drive and really get into Youtube.

7. Your favourite post you have done on your blog?

Now that's pretty hard as each and every one is special to me as I put a lot of time and effort into them. However if I had to choose I'd probably say the one about me telling you guys I was Adopted. I received such amazing feedback from this post and it really made me more confident than I already was to talk about it.

8. What disney character you wanted to be when you where younger and why?

I'm not quite sure I wasn't really into like princesses when I was younger I never really dressed up in any of their dresses I played outside more.

I love both my Rimmel Apocalips they're so versatile and can be easily applied.

So no surprise but I have a few Meredith & Derek from Grey's Anatomy, Susan & Mike from Desperate Housewives and Michael & Sarah from Prison Break.

11. If you could swap bodies with ANY person for a day, who would it be and why?
It would probably have to be my best friend because she's so lively and doesn't care what other people think she just does what she wants within reason of course. Whereas I'm more sensible and consider what will happen if I do something I'd like to see the fun side for a while.

Blogs I've been loving recently #2

In today's post I'm going to be sharing with you 5 blogs that I have been recently loving and that I follow here on blogger. I follow around 200-250 blogs here on blogger so there's plenty of new blogs to share with you guys. I hope you like the second installment of this series and keep a watch out for future posts like this.

If any of you guys have seen my August Favourites then you will know who this lovely lady is her name is Victoria and she makes youtube videos and also blogs. I love watching her youtube videos however I also adore reading her blog you can see that she puts a lot of effort into her posts. From her photography to the words she uses I always like to see her new posts as they can be either a fashion, beauty, travel or lifestyle related post. In addition to this I like how easy her blog is to navigate around as it's not confusing at all.

Next of all is Hayleys blog "Hey Sparkle" I've chosen this blog because of the way that Hayley takes her photographs is different compared to other bloggers. Her photographs are always so clear and of a high quality which is great for a reader because you can see the product or photograph the way that they actually are. When Hayley reviews a product she makes sure to cover all aspects of it without producing a long post which I like. She always provides swatches which is a great thing for a reader to see because you can see the real colour of the product.

Alexandra is another person who I've followed since I first started blogging I've seen her blog grow and develop. Sweet Dreams has been a great inspiration for myself as a blogger but also as a designer for my blog. The blog posts on Sweet Dreams are always either short or mid length with a couple of long posts in between. I like this idea of mixing up the posts rather than just posting short or long posts. This keeps the reader interested and makes the layout of the bog more intriguing. I love that her blog is a balanced mix between beauty and lifestyle as I enjoy reading both genres.
Abi's blog was one of the first blogs that I ever came across when I first discovered the world of blogging. Ever since then I've followed her because of the way she structures her posts her photos are always so clear. You can clearly see the amount of effort that Abi puts into her blog/posts and youtube videos which has obviously paid off as she has over 600 followers on bloglovin. Her blog design is very simple but also quite girly which I like. I'm also a great fan of Abi's photography which she shares on her Tumblr. She's a very talented photographer which is something that I aspire to develop as a skill one day.

Last of all is Becky's blog whom mostly posts about all things beauty along with a few fashion/lifestyle posts along the way. I really look up to Becky's blog and hope that my blog will become as successful as hers in the future. She can make a simple post such as a blog sale so interesting to read this is probably due to the amount of effort and time she puts into her photography. Becky's swatches are my favourite as she never fails to portray the actual product she does this by using a fair amount of product as a swatch instead of a tiny line or dot.

So as you can probably tell a big theme throughout this blog post is photography or the way that a blogger takes their photos. I'm a big fan of photography and if a blog has good photos then I'm more likely to follow them and enjoy their blog more. You can tell a lot about a blogger by their photography skills I think it enables you to see how much time & effort they put into their posts & blog.
