Glamping 2016 Part 2

Hey everyone I thought today I would upload the second part of my Glamping 2016 experience. If you haven't read the first part then you can here. In the first part I mostly expressed how I felt whereas in this part I'm going to share with you what I got up to whilst in Cornwall. We were there for a week which meant we did a lot as well as doing nothing at all. We did a lot of the things we did last year as that's what you tend to do on this sort of holiday. We have decided to make it a tradition each year now as we all enjoy it so much.

The main thing that we did was go to the beach we went here a good three days out of the week that we were down in Cornwall. The beach that we go to is called Sandymouth it's one of those beaches which is hidden. You have to go down several windy roads before you reach the carpark.

When I first went last year the beach didn't seem promising as you can't see it from the carpark so I thought "hmmm maybe it's not such a good beach after all". Little did I know these beaches are the best ones it has a small cafe at the top which serves hot sandwiches, drinks and delicious Cornish ice cream. It's also where I got my friends and family some Cornish treats on our last day.

So once you walk down the path from the cafe to the beach which FYI takes forever to walk back and makes you all hot & sweaty ew. You come to a pebbly bit which then opens on to the sandy beach that stretches for miles. It's one of most breath taking beaches I have ever been to and this year I took a walk along it by myself just contemplating life. It was so peaceful.

One of the other things that we did this year which we did last year was go to The Milky Way which is a theme park close by to where we were staying. You pay one entry fee and then you can basically do anything you want in side without paying extra. There are so many things to do such as ride on a rollercoaster, go on bumper cars, jump on massive trampoline pillows, play golf, go in the maze or go on the train.

When we first went there last year we were so amazed at how well priced it was as we took my little brother and a few of his friends. So paying one set fee for all of them to do so much is brilliant. It's also entertaining for adults as we can go on the bumper cars, roller-coaster or play golf as well.

We also went to the local shopping center which is an outlet place. They had a Nike store where we all bought new shoes as they were on special offer. I got a pair of Nike Roshe Runs for £31 when they're usually £70.  Then we just looked around the shops as many of them had offers on. There was a massive make up store which mainly stocked W7 make up. I was going to buy some but I thought that I had already bought enough haha.

When we weren't at the beach we were back at camp relaxing. I usually read my book outside in the sun or on my bed in the Yurt. I often took naps in the communal areas as the sofas there were so comfortable! Tea was my go to drink as it was cold in the mornings and evenings. I think I drank about four cups a day which isn't good for you but I did get decaffeinated tea so that is better than non decaffeinated.

I also ate a lot whether this was breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks in between I seemed to always be eating. I did say to myself you are on holiday so treat yourself and eat better when you're home. This is exactly what I have done this week I have been eating really well and I have had the odd biscuit or two here or there but I'm not super strict when it comes to my food.

It was just a really laid back holiday which helped all of us to get away from our every day lives. Especially as I live in London which is very fast pace and can be stressful at times. Cornwall is the complete opposite to this and they do everything 10x slower. It's something I'd love my kids to experience when I have some because it's so important for kids to play outside.

Not Quite A School Girl

Hey guys I thought I would share with you an outfit that I wore the other day because it was really cute and comfy. My brother said to me "You look like a school girl in those dungarees". I thought to myself hey I sort of do haha. I'm IN LOVE with my new shoes from Nike which I got for a bargain at one of their outlet stores they were only £31!!!

The thing I like about these dungarees is that you can dress them up or down depending on when you're going to wear them. They also tighten up around your waist giving you that lovely hourglass figure. I think they are just really cute and I'm so glad that I got it. I made the outfit look casual by wearing trainers instead of sandals.

You can easily style this outfit to suit you just by changing the colour of the top. I think that a tee-shirt or strappy top would work really well. I'm going to pair it with a white tee-shirt next time because I think that would work really well. However a bandeau top would also work well if it's a hot day.

I kept my make-up minimal I only wore lip balm and mascara which you can't see haha. But I would suggest going for a natural look. In terms of hair styles I left mine straight but I think a plait would look super cute and would complete the look. You could even wear a fedora hat as well!!

Top - Hollister (Similar)
Dungarees - Miss Guided
Shoes - Nike

Glamping 2016 Part 1

Hey everyone if you follow me on social media then you will know I have been away for a week Glamping. I was going to blog a lot whilst I was there but then I thought no. No because I was a little stressed before I went away and I really needed time to really relax. I managed to get one blog post up and one video but after that I didn't bother to. I spent most my time reading, sleeping, spending time with family and friends and generally chilling out.

This year was a bit different to last year as we all knew what it would be like so we all settled in immediately. We went to the exact same place last year in Welcombe, Bideford which is in Cornwall. If you haven't heard of Glamping it's basically a step up from camping. You get all the luxuries of living at home such as a bed, bathroom, kitchen, wifi etc....But you are still in the middle of nowhere camping as such.

Like last year we stayed at Koa Tree Camp which has log cabins, bell tents & yurts. Last year we stayed in a bell tent which was quite cold and cramped at times. However this year we stayed in a yurt which was a lot of fun and had a lot more room as there were five of us staying in it.

"A yurt is traditional Mongolian tent consisting of wooden walls, an insulating felt layer and a heavy waterproof canvas over the top." It had a big double bed and four single beds inside as well as a log fire, electricity and various other homely touches like candles and rugs. On the outside it had a picnic bench and a bbq which we used a lot. The communal area had a large kitchen, lounge and several bathrooms which were all kept tidy.

Like I already mentioned this year I had a different motive whilst I was there. Last year it was just to have fun and explore but this year was to relax and get back my energy that I had lost before I went away. Don't get me wrong I had a lot of fun and explored a lot also.

I wrote a post on my personal FB along side a beautiful picture of the sun setting "Sometimes you just have to get away from it all & do nothing. This week in Cornwall is just what I needed. Nights like these sitting on the deck, drinking tea, reading a book & looking at this amazing view are sometimes all you need to feel like you again...".

I agree with this 100% as you can often lose yourself if you are stressed out with work or life in general. I felt like before I went away I just wasn't myself I was exhausted all the time and had no energy for anything.  Sometimes it's a great idea just to go away for a day or go for a walk alone to clear your head.

In this part I thought I'd just express how I felt whereas in part 2 I'm going to be sharing with you what we did when we were down there. I had so much fun this week and ate way to much which I don't regret at all because I was on holiday. It was nice to spend time away with family and friends as we all got on really well.

I definitely missed blogging & making videos but I felt like a break was needed as I had lost my motivation for them both. I can't wait to really work hard on them both over the next few weeks and I have a lot of exciting things planned. Tea was my comfort on holiday and I drank a lot of it as it always makes me feel so calm.

Outfit:
Hat - H&M
Playsuit - Primark
Shoes - River Island
Bag - H&M

I did manage to get a video up whilst I was away. Although it is quite short I wanted to show you what it was like Glamping so I did a visual sort of video with hardly any talking. If you liked this video please give it a THUMBS UP and make sure to SUBSCRIBE.

Review | The London Flotation Centre | AD

Hey everyone you are probably wondering by now where I have been as it's been around a week since I last wrote a blog post. I have been itching to write one ever since then but I have just been too busy. I haven't told you all but I am away glamping again over the next few days in Cornwall so this week has been a super busy getting things ready before we left.

I have been meaning to write this blog post up for a while now and this morning I am finally getting around to doing it. A few weeks a go I got an email from the lovely Katerina at The London Flotation Centre suggesting that we do a collaboration together. I did some research on the type of treatment that they do & then said Yes as it was something I had never experienced before!

The London Flotation Centre is a mini spa in a way as you have everything there that you would at a spa. However although they offer other treatments such as facials etc..They specialise in one particular treatment which is called Flotation as the name of the spa would suggest.

What is flotation therapy?
The whole idea of flotation is that you indeed float but in a special pod. They sort of reminded me of shells as they are of a similar shape. If you are scared of water then don't be afraid as they are only knee deep. The water itself is a mixture of epsom salt which leaves your skin feeling so smooth. I didn't have to apply any body lotion afterwards.

You basically spend a set amount of time floating in the pod you can either choose to use a pillow or float without it. You can fall asleep if you wish (An hours worth of flotation is equivalent to four hours of sleep).

My experience
I decided to bring my mum along as I had never done anything like this for my blog so I didn't know what to expect. We arrived at the spa at around 1.10pm as we got lost slightly however the journey was nice as we took the DLR and I have never taken it before. It's so cool!

When we got there it was actually a lot smaller than I had thought having only two rooms for the flotation pods. The lady who showed us around was very lovely and explained everything to us. We were booked in for an hours treatment however we were given an hour and a half so that we had time to shower etc after. Everything had been thought of such as towels, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash, ear plugs and Vaseline for any open scratches as the salt would sting otherwise.

After we were shown around and given instructions we both took showers before getting in to the pods. I went first without using a neck cushion which was a bad move as you have no support around your neck which sounds harder than it is. So I ended up using the neck pillow as it makes your body straighter anyways. As we were the only two there we were able to talk to each other which was nice otherwise it would have been quite lonely.

Mums thoughts
My Mum thought that the place was very clean which I did as well. It's always a plus when a spa place is super clean as it can be a bad experience if they aren't. Mum thought that the lady who looked after us was very welcoming as she always asked if we needed anything.

She said that she really enjoyed it and found it very relaxing even though she is scared of swimming pools & the sea. She even recommended it to some of her friends as she said it would be good as a treat but better to come with a friend. The last thing she said was that when she was floating she "felt at peace with the world".

What are the benefits??
- "Floatation in Epsom salts is easy way to increase sulfate and magnesium levels in the body."
- "Replaces stress with a sense of well-being"
- It's peaceful and relaxing
- Leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft
- Gives you a good nights sleep after
Improves concentration

Would we do it again?
I think I would do it again but with a friend as I think it would be quite lonely without. I'm a fidgety person so I would find it hard to concentrate for an hour on my own in a room. I really enjoyed it as I never would have done something like that if I wasn't given the opportunity.

I know my Mum would probably not do it again although she really enjoyed it she still found it uncomfortable as she doesn't like water in that sense. But I do know she recommended some of her friends so hopefully they try it out.

Thank you so much Katerina I had such a lovely afternoon as we made a day of it after by going out to eat and then lunch. I really appreciate being given the opportunity as it's something that I had never heard of before. I highly recommend you all checking it out because it is unusual and everyone should try it at least once.

Video | Weekend Vlog #1

Hey guys today's blog post is just a catch up on videos as I haven't posted any on here for a week or two. I also explain why I stopped making videos for June Lovin. Sometimes I forget to put a post up for my videos which is why I do combined posts like this haha.

The first video I uploaded was my first Weekend vlog as I explained in the video it's a new series I'm starting. As I work full time Monday-Friday my week days are really boring so I decided to only vlog my weekends but only sometimes. I think this will be really fun as I loved doing it last weekend and I usually have things planned for the weekend so that they're not as boring.

I was given the opportunity to try flotation for free in my vlog which I will be completely explaining about in my upcoming blog post this weekend. Keep an eye out for that. I'm not 100% if that makes my video & blog post an AD but I know in England now you have to declare if it is so I am going to anyways.

June Lovin explanation
There is no grand story I wish there was in a way but I have just become so busy with work that I didn't have time to film anything. Most of my videos were pre-filmed on the weekends as during the week I'm too exhausted to film anything after work. However one weekend I was away and I completely forgot about it so the last few videos I couldn't film.

I think I only missed out on four videos which isn't that bad considering I managed to get twelve up every other day. I'm still proud of myself as it was tough especially as I do work everyday so it wasn't like I had lots of hours in the day to film etc...I will definitely do this sort of thing again but I know to be better prepared next time!!

What was your favourite June Lovin video?

Blogging With A Full Time Job Is HARD!

Today marks the beginning of my fourth month at my job. As some of you will know I am a digital marketing apprentice which means I work full-time & go to class twice a week. People often say why do you go to class? Well the things I learn & the coursework I complete during it goes towards my qualification for my apprenticeship. An apprenticeship is a qualification as well as a job so at the end of my thirteen months I will receive a certificate for it and hopefully be offered a permanent job where I work now.

I have continued to blog/film videos since I have had this full-time job however I have struggled massively at times & lost my motivation at others. On the other hand I have found more inspiration than ever and written/filmed some of my best content over these past three months.

I'm not going to pretend that it has been as simple as a b c because is has not in the slightest. I work long hours from 9-6 which I like as I get a lot done but it means that after work I'm often tired. I hardly blog after work during the evening as I find it hard to focus I would rather sit & watch a film.

Dedicate a day to blogging/filming
I try to set a day aside a week (Usually Sunday's) to focus on my blog/channel. I will then spend the day planning, writing blog posts or filming videos. I also spend the day relaxing by either reading a book, catching up on YouTube videos or watching films. Another thing I do on this day is stock up on photos (Well I try to anyways) I gather a few products that I want to take photos of and then have a big blog photo photo-shoot haha.

Don't feel pressured
At the end of the day blogging/Youtubing are a hobby for me at the moment. My job always comes first. So if I'm super busy with work and can't get a blog post out or a video I tend not to panic. This is because I know I can just upload it tomorrow or in a few days time. Feeling pressured whilst blogging or filming videos is the worst thing that can happen as you can lose your spark. No one is going to shout at you if you don't upload something on that day!!

Express how you feel
Talking about how hard you may be finding it is a good way to express your feelings like I am doing now. I am trying hard to get at least 2-3 blog posts & 1 video up a week but it is hard and I am proud of how much I have managed to create so far. I will continue to blog/make videos but also make it flexible with how busy I am at work. I never realised how much of my time would be taken up but now that I have my weekends free I can use one day to really focus on both platforms.

Buy pretty things to motivate yourself
Okay so this one is within reason. If you see a pretty planner or checklist pad and you have enough money in your account pick it up! Not only do they help you to become motivated & organised but they also look great in blog photos. I recently went in to Liberty London where I stumbled upon their stationary department which was a-mazing. There were so many colourful notepads, memo pads, pens etc...I just loved it and I will definitely be going back there soon to pick up some things for myself.
