Hey guys I’m so sorry I haven’t written a blog post yet this week. It’s been another manic week for me and I have just been exhausted when I get home from work. I thought that I would share with you what I got up to when I went to Luxembourg.
As you guys know a few weeks ago I went to Luxembourg which sits between Germany & France. We went just for the weekend Friday-Sunday just Mum & I. I have never been before so I thought that it would be somewhere new and exciting to visit.
We left home around 9am as our flight was at 1:50pmish but it was at Gatwick South which is about an hour and forty five minutes away from where I live. Therefore we left early as you have to be there two/three hours before your flight to check in etc…
We got to the airport with plenty of time to catch our flight and we were even too early to check in. Once we had been to cafe Nero to get some food and drink we looked around the shops and then headed to our gate to catch our flight.
We landed about 4pm in the afternoon Luxembourg time and then headed to our hotel which was about 15 minutes from the airport. We checked in and relaxed in our room before heading down for dinner.
We stayed at the Sofitel which had excellent customer service. At first they couldn’t find our reservation so they upgraded us because of this small mishap. They then bought up a cake for my mum as they knew it was recently her birthday and gave her a voucher for a free drink in the bar.
I was so pleased at how lovely all the staff were I did not come across one unpleasant member of staff. All of the staff seemed to truly love working at the Sofitel and you can see why as the hotel was beautiful. It was quite small but the rooms were so spacious but also cosy.
We then decided to stay in the hotel for dinner there were two restaurants that we could choose from. One was an Italian but it was more fancy & quite expensive or there was a more traditional restaurant which was much more reasonable.
The food was delicious and we chose well which is always a bonus. We got a starter of pâté with a bread basket that was so yummy. I then chose to have a starter which was a traditional dish. We then both chose to have steak for our mains which was one if not the best steak I have ever had.
After dinner we went back to our hotel room and watched a bit of tv before crashing out. It’s surprising how tired you get from a morning of travelling even though we were mostly siting around. Our first day was brilliant even though we didn’t leave the hotel but it was still nice to settle in properly before we went exploring the next day.
