My Mediterranean Holiday 2017 | Day 2: Barcelona

Hey guys today I am back with another holiday blog post from my holiday that I went on a few weeks ago. I was meant to put these up quickly one after the other but I just haven’t had the chance. On our second day of our holiday, we spent the whole day in Barcelona.

The day started with me doing some people watching on our hotel room balcony. Luckily we had an amazing room that looked out onto a really busy street. As the weather was so nice I could sit on our balcony in my pjs and not feel cold at all. We were so lucky with the weather throughout our holiday.

We then got ready for breakfast which we had at the hotel. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast that you would get in Europe. They had some fruit, cold meats, bread & pastries and cereal. As our hotel was I think a three star one the breakfast wasn’t great but it was okay and we managed to eat a substantial amount.

After breakfast, Nan and I went out to find a local supermarket to buy things like water, drinks and snacks for our hotel room. We found this really convenient supermarket just around the corner that had everything we needed and at a cheap price as well. We then wondered back to the hotel to get my mum before we went out for the day.

We didn’t have any particular plans for the day apart from a lunch reservation that we had at 1pm. Our hotel was really well located as it was local to a lot of different things like the cathedral, shops, restaurants and the beach. We started to wonder around from our hotel towards the cathedral as it was so beautiful so I wanted to go there and take photos.

It was a Saturday so I think there was a festival going on as there was lots of live music and dancing. Everywhere I looked the architecture was amazing I just wanted to take photos all the time. I did take loads of photos but I can’t put them all in my blog posts they would be endless haha.

We looked in lots of shops but I didn’t get anything until later on in the day. The main shopping area made me think of when I was in Paris. After looking around the shops for a bit we caught a taxi to where we had lunch.

For lunch we went to the Círculo Ecuestre which is like a members club where you can go to eat or stay there as they have hotel rooms as well. A lot of people have birthday parties there as it is really grand and a great place to celebrate a big birthday.

The lunch was really posh as it is quite a formal place anyways. We went for the set menu which included a starter, main and dessert. As you can see from the photos above the food was delicious I ate all of it and I wish I could have the pasta again because that was the best part. We were the only ones in the restaurant at that time which was quite strange as the restaurant was huge.

We then went back to the hotel where I took a nap because I didn’t sleep much the night before so I was quite tired from all the walking and the heat. Once I had woken up we decided to wonder down to the marina where they had all the super yatchs.

On our way down there as we had chosen to walk down one of the back streets we managed to bump into a group of drummers. I cannot even begin to explain to you how loud it was. Even on my vlog it doesn’t come across that loud. My ears were ringing for at least 10 minutes after we had walked pass them.

The harbour was really pretty and we ended up walking down towards the shopping centre. We then got a few drinks and while my mum and nan chatted I wondered off to the shopping centre and ended up picking up this really nice red jumper from Bershka. We then headed back to the hotel and got a good nights sleep.
