*Classic Outfits VS Casual Outfits

February 25, 2019

Fashion plays a big part in anyone’s life. Expressing your personality through what we wear is one of the many wonders of the world we currently live in. There is just so much choice when it comes to fashion from the colour of the clothing item to the texture of the material used. I absolutely love styling outfits and I have learned over the years which clothing items suite me and which ones don’t.

I would say that my wardrobe has a mixture of casual, loungewear, going out & workwear clothing items. I’ve always been the type to choose comfort over anything else as you have to feel comfortable in what you are wearing to give you confidence right? Therefore, I thought that today’s blog post would be a great opportunity to show you some casual & classic outfits that are all comfy to wear. Classic outfits are always a go-to as they are great to wear over and over again whereas casual outfits are great for wearing when you are at home or running errands.

Black One Shoulder Ruched Slinky Midi Dress – Savannah £19.99

The first classic outfit is this black ruched slinky midi dress which I have paired with a pair of black court heels. I absolutely love the quality of the dress as the material is very thick and silky. I have never really worn any outfits that have only one shoulder however, I have chosen two outfits in this blog post both with the one shoulder feature.

I really love how wearing an outfit with only one shoulder brings your attention straight to your collar bones which are one of my favourite parts of a woman’s body. I’ve always found that collar bones are very feminine and can be used to add a lot of class to an outfit. This dress showcases your figure in all the right places and really accentuates your figure. It’s a perfect outfit for a first date or a night out with the girls.

Black Belted One Shoulder Jumpsuit – Evelyn £19.99

The second classic outfit that I have chosen from Femme Luxe Finery is a jumpsuit. I decided to go for a black one as it’s such a classic colour and everyone always looks good in black. I really love the style of this one as the material is very comfy and thick which is always a good thing. You can easily dress this outfit up by adding a colourful bag or a pair of colourful heels however, I decided to keep the jumpsuit as my main focus.

One of the main things I love about this jumpsuit is that it will cover all of your food babies. For me, it was quite long on the legs, as I’m only around five foot four, however, this can be easily sorted as you can get it tailored pretty easily. Lucky for me my mum is very good at this type of thing so she is going to take them up for me so that they aren’t so long on me.

Grey High Neck Ribbed Jumpsuit – Yasmine £20.99

Comfy clothes have always been a big part of my wardrobe however, it seems over the past few years to have grown massively. I would describe comfy clothes as ones you would wear at home or out and about running errands. Loungewear is a new trend where comfy meets stylish as usually, it’s some sort of tracksuit or jumpsuit that doesn’t look like you just rolled out of bed. I decided to pick up a comfy jumpsuit as I’m always out running errands and sometimes I want to look stylish doing it.

This particular jumpsuit is perfect for Spring as the material is really light which you can easily pair up with a warm jacket and some comfy trainers or converse to complete the look. I’ve always loved the ribbed look as I find that it always looks flattering as it subtly adds texture to your outfit without being too in your face. Grey is a great colour to choose as it’s quite flattering but also not as bold as black is. This jumpsuit is a great choice for a family meal where you don’t need to dress up but you also want to look like you made some effort. It’s a casual outfit but it can also be dressed up with some heels and a nice bag.

Black With White Stripe Off Shoulder Loungewear Set – Shani £15.99

My last outfit is this loungewear set with white stripes, there is something about stripes that I just love. The set is so soft on the inside but also light as well so it’s the perfect thing to wear in the Spring & Autumn when it’s cold but not freezing. I like that the top is cropped but not too cropped as I feel a lot more comfortable just showing a bit of my waist instead of the whole of my stomach. This is the perfect outfit to wear when you are on your period as it is very comfortable and when you are on that’s the most important thing.

It’s also a good outfit for a movie day at home under the duvet. Don’t get me wrong I love wearing a new set of pyjamas on a movie day, however, sometimes I prefer to wear a loungewear set as you feel like you have made some sort of effort but you are still in comfy clothes. The fit on the top and trousers is fitting but not tight which I like as there is still room to breath.

My overall opinion…

I think everyone, needs some classic and comfy outfits in their wardrobe for different occasions. What I love about all of the outfits that I have chosen is that they can all be dressed up or down. For the classic outfits, you can dress them down by wearing some chunky trainers with them to make them a bit more edgy and a big buckled belt. Whereas, with the loungewear outfits you can dress them up with some heels and a nice handbag. All of the outfits are affordable and are great staple editions to your wardrobe. My favourite piece is definitely the jumpsuit as it’s so well fitting and I love how it fits my shape perfectly.
