Hey everyone, it’s been quite a while since I sat down and typed up a blog post. To be honest I haven’t really had the mental capacity to think about anything other than work, eating & sleeping. These last few weeks have been quite hectic and some of the toughest weeks I have faced at work. You all know that I like to be as raw as I can on my blog with things that are going on in my life. Of course, there are some things that I like to keep to myself, however, the majority of things that happen in my life I do share with you all.
As most of you will know my other marketing colleague left my company which now means that I am the only one doing marketing now. I had always known that the first few weeks would be really busy after she had left however, I never expected them to be as crazy as they were. I think in hindsight I was trying to do too much too quickly therefore, I was very overwhelmed and stressed out. It was getting to a point where I was just becoming a robot which didn’t help me mentally at all.
This week I took a step back and only focused on the really important things that I needed to get done. I found that by only focusing on a few things I was able to get more done. This meant that I wasn’t doing as much after work and that I could separate work from my personal life a lot easier. Everyone needs a break from work even if it means leaving things to do the next day.
Obviously, if it’s really important then I will complete it until it’s done even if it means working for a few hours after work. However, if it’s not important then I need to learn that it’s okay to leave it and then do it the next day. I think that by trying to separate work and life a bit more it will help me to be less stressed and overwhelmed.
This is why I haven’t really been active on any social media these past few weeks not consistently anyways. I have been putting all of my energy into my work which has been a good thing because I am getting lots done but also a bad thing because it’s all I have been doing. I think I am getting to a point where I can finally upload consistently as I feel like I am in a better place overall with both work and my life. I am hoping to upload on my blog 2-3 times a week like I used to do and then at least once on my YouTube channel.
