Hey everyone, it’s been quite a while since I last posted but if you read my last blog post then you will understand what’s been going on. In a nutshell, I’ve been super busy with work and just haven’t had the time or energy to create content for my blog or my YouTube channel. However, I feel like things may finally be getting back to normal. I don’t want to say that they are calming down as they definitely aren’t but things are seeming to get back to normal which means that I can get back into my routine.
I decided about a month ago that I wanted to go on another adventure as apart from a small trip away to Portugal I didn’t have any big holidays planned. Therefore, I wanted to go on a big adventure by myself again which is why I decided to go on a group tour as I’m not quite confident to travel completely alone just yet. I absolutely loved my trip last year to Hong Kong with one of my best friends which was a really good taste of what travelling alone may be like. If you watched my videos then you would know that my friend lived about an hour and a half away from my hotel so I would sometimes venture out alone. Even though I was almost 6,000 miles from home I didn’t once feel scared or unsafe as Hong Kong is a relatively safe country.
My trip to Hong Kong was a massive reason as to why I wanted to travel more of Asia which is why I have decided to visit Cambodia. I loved the whole culture and vibrancy of Hong Kong not to mention all of the delicious food which I cannot wait to eat when I visit Cambodia. I have decided to go on a 12-day tour around Cambodia with about 15 other travellers who I don’t know. The tour company that I decided to go with is Real Gap I’ve been wanting to do a lot of these tours for a few years now so I have researched various other tour groups. Of course, with each company there are positive and negative comments about them however, I guess it’s different for each person so I’m hoping that it’s a positive one for me. From what I’ve read most of the experiences by people have been positive and I have chosen one of their popular tours as my first one.
The whole tour itself was £649 for me as I chose one off-peak so it was a little cheaper than the other tours. However, this does not include flights which are extra. I think flights to Cambodia are around £550 for a return ticket however, I am yet to purchase mine yet. Of course, I’m going to take you along with me on this adventure and I am hoping to vlog while I am out there to share my experiences of a group tour. I will keep you updated with each stage of my planning for the trip as well as the actual trip itself. Real Gap has so many other amazing tours on their website so you could easily do one every year!
