Hey everyone, today’s blog post is all about my experience of having afternoon tea at The Rosebery which is in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I was very lucky that one of my friends treated me to afternoon tea here for my birthday. I have always seen this hotel on the TV and on influencers’ stories as it’s a popular hotel among the rich and famous.
It was £58 per person for the afternoon tea which included a tea of your choice. If you wanted any additional drinks or alcohol it was a bit more money but it was still a reasonable price for a luxury hotel. I was surprised that the afternoon tea wasn’t expensive considering it was in a five-star hotel. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and the staff were all so attentive and kind so I could see why it was a popular place to go. I remember being really excited to go as it was one of the first things I did with a friend when the restrictions eased here in London.
The menu varies depending on the time of year that you go, however, they always have a selection of sandwiches, desserts, and scones. Everything was made fresh and was presented in such a special way. The desserts were absolutely delicious and they were big enough for me and my friend to share between us. There were two of each sandwich which was ideal as it meant that we could both try all of the sandwiches. The scones were freshly made and were brought out hot which is always a nice addition.
As it was an afternoon tea you could ask for more of anything if you wanted without any extra charges. The atmosphere was really nice as you could see that everyone was having a good time and were just enjoying allowed to be out again. My friend had mentioned that it was my birthday to the restaurant beforehand so they brought out this lovely strawberry tart which I was not expecting at all. I really enjoyed the afternoon tea and I would go back there again as I had a great day from start to finish. It’s a great gift to give someone as who doesn’t love an afternoon tea?
