Hey everyone Happy New Year and welcome to 2022! I have been meaning to write and upload this for a while now but one thing after another happened. This year has certainly started off with a bang I, unfortunately, fell for a scam and lost some money as well as my old Instagram account in the first week of January. I feel really silly but the scam was so convincing that I thought it was real. I luckily managed to get my Instagram account back after a few days but the scammer had also scammed other people through my account. I am obviously sad that I lost some money, however, I was sadder about losing my account as I had built a lovely community of people. Also, the memories from my stories and posts that were on my account meant so much so when I finally got it back I cried because it meant so much to me.
Last year was definitely a challenging year for me as I lost my Godmother to cancer suddenly which was really hard to deal with as a part of my Granddad who passed away when I was in year 10 I hadn’t lost anyone close to me since. My Nan also had ovarian & bowel cancer and had to have numerous sessions of chemo as well as a big operation but thankfully she recovered from it. However, I definitely made sure to make the most of it and did some amazing things over the past 12 months.
Just a few things from last year:
- I began my journey to finding my birth parents with a 23andMe DNA test in January
- It unexpectedly snowed in West London one day which was really fun
- I went on some really cool photo/video shoots with my old work as well as organising two events
- I ate at a lot of new and nice places
- I got my eyebrows microbladed for the first time
- I went on a mini-solo staycation in May
- I turned 25
- I made lots of new friends as well as connected with old ones
- I went to see Hairspray, Frozen, & Mary Poppins in theatre
- I went to see Love Actually in concert
- I went to eat at a lot of different places
- I went on my first holiday abroad since the beginning of 2020 to Dubai
- I resigned from my job in search of expanding my career
- I started training for a half marathon
2021 Blog/YouTube Goals:
- Reach 180,000 views on my blog by 1st January 2022 (I only reached 157,221 views as I am still catching up on blog posts from last year. I managed to write up a lot of them during December but still have a few more to write up)
- Reach 160,000 views on my YouTube channel and 5,000 subscribers by 1st January 2022 (I managed to reach 170,501 views and 3,726 subscribers. I really love some of the videos that I created last year)
- Blog every day for a week (I didn’t manage to do this but I did blog a lot throughout December)
- Work more on my SEO (I didn’t get around to this but it’s definitely something I would like to focus on in 2022)
- Work with a brand (I was very lucky with a few different brands mainly on my old Instagram which has now been hacked so I’m sad about that)
- Collaborate with other bloggers (I definitely made a lot of new creator friends however, we didn’t collaborate or meet up as there were quite a few restrictions at the beginning of 2021. Throughout 2022, I’d like to meet more creators in person and also online)
- Collaborate with other YouTubers (The same as above)
- Meet some creators in real life (The same as above)
2021 Personal Goals:
- Travel somewhere new (I did go on a little staycation in May to a place that I had never been to before which was so cute)
- Make sure I am spending money on things I actually use (I would definitely say that I spent less money on things that I don’t use and instead invested in things that I will use for many years)
- Make new friends (I made a lot of new friends this year both in-person and online which is always nice during a time that you couldn’t really socialise a lot)
- Reconnect with family & friends when we can (2020 was a year that we couldn’t socialise a lot so I made sure to spend time with family and friends throughout 2021 as
- Read more books (I did read a lot more than I did in 202o but I still didn’t read as much as I wanted to)
- Begin saving for a house/flat deposit (I am still saving but I have a good amount saved)
- Sort out all of my photos on my laptop and get some printed to put up in my room (This is something I haven’t managed to achieve yet but I want to continue to work on it throughout 2022)
- Get back into exercising (I feel really in shape at the moment as I’m currently training for a half marathon)
- Be more present instead of always online (I would definitely say that I did work on this but that I am still working on it)
- Find a good balance between saving and spending (I could have been a lot better at this. It’s something I want to work on more in 2022)
- Finish off the decor in my bedroom (I am really happy with the way my room looks at the moment. I would just like to put a few more things on the wall and print out some photos as well)
